Pnn/Faridabad: The Community College of Skill Development of J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, has organized an Induction Program for newly admitted students in the academic session 2023-24 in various B.Voc and Diploma courses
The inaugural session of the program was graced by Sh. Raj
Nehru, the Vice-Chancellor of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, served as the chief guest and keynote speaker for the program. Sh. Sukhdev Singh, President of YMCA MOB, the esteemed alumni association of the University, was the guest of honour. The inaugural session was presided over by Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar, the Vice-Chancellor of J.C. Bose University.
The program was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar and dignitaries by lighting the traditional lamp followed by a welcome address by Dr. Sanjeev Goyal, Principal of CCSD. Dean (Institution) Prof. Sandeep Grover, Dean Student Welfare Prof. Munish Vashishth and chairpersons of various teaching departments were also present on this occasion.
In his thought-provoking keynote address, Sh. Raj Nehru urged the students to embark on a journey of skill acquisition that would not only enhance their employability but also set them on a path to success. His speech was a master class in career preparation, emphasizing the importance of hands-on experiences during their college days.
He stressed that students should prioritize practical assignments and ongoing self-analysis to ensure that the skills they acquire align perfectly with their future job prospects in the ever-evolving market. Drawing from his extensive experience working with IBM’s Human Resources, he revealed a golden nugget of wisdom – companies often favour candidates who have a track record of handling critical assignments during their college years.
Sh. Raj Nehru inspired the students to be dynamic and adaptable, encouraging them to synchronize their skill sets with the latest emerging technologies and market trends. He wisely counselled them to remain open to the exciting field of social media influencers, recognizing the vast potential it holds in today’s digital age.
In his address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar extended a warm welcome to the newly admitted students, marking the beginning of their educational journey. With a wealth of wisdom, he shared invaluable advice, emphasizing that the university experience should serve as a platform not only for shaping one’s career but also for refining one’s character. He encouraged the students to aim for academic excellence, but also reminded them that true success lies in becoming exemplary citizens who actively contribute to the noble task of nation-building.
Prof. Tomar underlined the significance of holistic development, urging the students to make their well-being a top priority. He stressed the importance of staying physically active and suggested that each student engage in at least one sports activity, promoting a balanced and active lifestyle as an essential part of their university experience.
Following Prof. Tomar’s inspiring words, Sh. Sukhdev Singh provided a brief introduction to the Association. He highlighted the remarkable journey of the Association, which was established in 1985 and now boasts more than 10 thousand active members. He proudly mentioned that the Association not only offers support to university students but also maintains a global network, providing business and personal support to its member students. Sh. Sukhdev Singh expressed the Association’s unwavering commitment to assisting students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, assuring them of full support from the organization.
At the end of the inaugural session, Sh. Nitin Goel, Vice-Principal of CCSD, extended a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all those present for their participation and contributions.
