Pnn/Faridabad: The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, organized IDEATHON-2023, providing a platform for students to showcase their innovative solutions and foster a culture of problem-solving and creativity within the University.
The program commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp and a prayer to Goddess Saraswati, the symbol of knowledge, wisdom, and innovation. Shri Prabhu Narayan, Director (Cyber Security in Financial Sector), Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, along with Prof. Sandeep Grover, Dean (Institution), and the members of the IIC, Dr. Rashmi Aggarwal, Dr. Rohit Tripathi, Dr. Nikhil Dev, Dr. Poonam, and Dr. Ashlesha Gupta, participated in the lamp lighting ceremony and Saraswati Vandana. The president of IIC (6.0) of the University, Dr. Rashmi Aggarwal discussed about the functioning of IIC of the University, and Dr. Rohit Tripathi conveyed the theme of the IDEATHON-2023 and emphasized IDEATHON-2023
Shri Prabhu Narayan, the chief guest, shared his experiences with the participants, emphasizing the importance of innovation in education. Prof. Sandeep Grover presided over the program and expressed his ideas on the significance of fostering a culture of innovation within the university.
A total of 33 teams participated in the event, presenting their ideas through PPT presentations and prototypes to industry specialists. The participants gained valuable insights and feedback from the program, contributing to their growth and development.
In the Ideathon competition, the team from JC Bose University won the first prize with their idea of an IoT-based Smart Electric Scooter. They were awarded a cash prize of ₹10,000. The team from Delhi Pharma University secured the second prize with their project titled “Special You,” focused on healthcare, and received a cash prize of ₹7,000. The third prize was jointly declared for the team from Manav Rachna University Faridabad with their idea of AI-Driven Navigation Assistance and the team from JC Bose University with their idea of a Robotic Arm. Both teams were awarded a cash prize of ₹5,000. All participants were awarded e-certificates to acknowledge their participation and contribution to IDEATHON-2023.
In the Design-X competition, Hitarth, a second-year B.Tech student of the University, won the first prize. Devansh, a second-year B.Tech student, secured the second position, and Bhawana, a first-year B.Tech student, bagged the third place.
The event concluded with a comprehensive report of the event presented by Dr. Nikhil Dev, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ashlesh Gupta.
