Pnn/Faridabad: The Department of Communication & Media Technology of J.C. Bose University of Science & Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, Haryana, has organized an expert lecture on “Do’s and Don’ts in Field Reporting” for media students on 1st March 2024 at the Jhar Sentli, Faridabad. The resource person for the Lecture was Mr. Amit Chaudhary, Senior Journalist of ZEE Media, Faridabad. The Lecture commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Pawan Singh, Chairperson of the department. During this session, the students learned about the basics of TV/News reporting, challenges in the field, and the process of news gathering.
During this session, Mr. Chaudhary said, “Journalism is not about delivering the news only; a journalist is one who is doing research in the field to get the information. Ground reporting is the base of journalism; during that, you must be ready to face physical, mental, and economic challenges. During this session, the students became aware of reporting techniques, challenges during field reporting, and actual scenarios of the media industry, etc. Students got an insight into the internal workings of the reporting skills and practices. The session was practical-oriented, and students got hands-on exposure to news gathering, processing, and producing sound output.
The Lecture was conducted under Dr. Pawan Singh, Chairperson of the department. The chairperson congratulated and appreciated the effort made by the faculty member and promised to organize a more practical exposure lecture for students in the future. Dr. Bharat Dhiman, Assistant Professor of the department, coordinated the Lecture.
